Irma MacLellan Early Years
She was born a Midwestern girl in the tiny
(< 500) people town of Mentone, Indiana, and she never lost those mid-western farming values.
The Baker family left Indiana somewhere between 1897 and 1903 and moved to Minneapolis Minnesota, where the three pictures below were taken.
It was in Minneapolis that Irma met her future husband.



Mentone Indiana is a tiny (< 500 people) farming community known for its' egg production. It's called the egg capital of the midwest, and is home of the "world's largest egg", a 3000 pound concrete egg mounted in the town.
