The Lee MacLellan Family Story
Donald McLellan and Children

Donald McLellan is the top-most ancestor we have information for. He was presumably the son of the unknown McLellan from Ireland.

I stand on the shoulders of my cousin Kathryn J. McLellan, who provided the bulk of the research on which this site is built.

Kildalton is on the Isle of Islay, one of the major western islands, about 20 miles southwest of Craignish Parish. And assuming our unknown MacLellan came from Ireland, then he emigrated a short distance to Islay (see red arrow on map)
Donald and his wife Katherine had 7 children: Archibald, Catherine, Mary, Dugald, Donald Jr., Duncan, and John. But we're primarily interested in Archibald, as his line leads to our branch of the Maclellans.
Since this chart was published by my cousin Kathryn McLellan, I've learned that Donald was born in Kildalton, Argyllshire, on the island of Islay. There he must have met his future wife, Katherine
Mckiacan, who was born in 1729 in Kildalton as well. Donald and Katherine migrated to Craignish.
